I like the badges and the rooms are really nice + well built but unfortunately it's a bit too long and a bit too tedious for me - I got about half way and gave up. regardless, thank you for the event!

My rage meter exploded during the 5 hours of doing this maze but boi does it feel good when it paid off in the end!
It's a bit too hard for me for it to actually be enjoyable (almost feels like it's there just to torture us, especially with some luck factors included), but I understand some "impossible" badges won't hurt from time to time 🙂

Thanks for the guide and kudos to Katie and Tom - the rooms were beautifully designed ❤️

I don't really like this one, I love mazes and enjoys it a lot but this one is a NO.

Who do I have to message about me being worried about missing out on badges for them to get me these ?? :}}

If u know u know :}}}
Posted by haznain 3 years ago
I dont understand the purpose of making such a hard unbearable maze, most people use laptops and dont have super intensive programming computers, the lag and the maze itself being extremely difficult to complete is so frustrating, i just wanted the badges but is so hard, like the lag doesn't help, the snow in the room and the unnecessary items placed in the room make the mazes hell to complete, lost so much of my time, pulled out all of my hair. Couldn't complete at all
Posted by Dani 3 years ago
Love the badges. Thank you for the guide!

Some guy said he spent 5.5 hours lmaoo. I personally spent my Christmas eve enjoying a meal w/ my girlfriend, opening a few early presents, playing card games + having some casual drinks, but pop off about how we need more basement dweller badges that take half a day to complete.

The bottom line is that a difficult maze is only ever as hard as it's hardest rooms and everything leading up exists soley for the sake of longevity, and that's okay sometimes, but in this case, it's just a complete and utter waste of time. I'mma pass.
Jordan replied 3 years ago
what was the point in your comment really?? i doubt you even have a girlfriend as you sound like an actual child going through the time and effort to insult people for working hard on a maze lol. how the hell is that impacting your life? no one is forcing you to do a maze. talk about serious issues. go to therapy and quit habbo and dump your girlfriend who clearly deserves better than a child like you,
Rel replied 3 years ago
hello shane, just wanted to clarify something. i know you're not trying to heavily critique HQ as you've said, i'd just like to say our reporters are given the same amount of information as you. If the events are personal and on .com sometimes we get to prewrite them and ask extra questions to the creators on how to do certain rooms. However, majority some personal events and almost all community events we get the same information as you. So whatever you see in the rooms especially for the artic maze for example, is also what we went off of and wrote the guide based on how the person who completed the room explained it. If that's how they say they did then that's what we put in the guide unless someone finds a better way to complete/explain it. hope you had a good christmas tho!!
Shaane replied 3 years ago
Re-reading the first part of my comment, you're right in that I came across the wrong way. I didn't intend for it to sound like an insult so I want to apologise to the player for that. I was merely attempting to reference the amount of time he spent on the maze, and using that to emphasise how unfeasable it is for regular people to find that sort of time to spend on a single badge. The last part was supposed to just be a little dig, but I guess I was just extremely clumbsy when I put all of the elements together and it just somehow came off as some sort of targeted response. Again, want to apologise to the player for that again. If I meant it that way, I'd have just replied to his comment. Just- yeah. Generally bad from me.

As to swag; I understand + respect all of the time and effort that went into each of these badges and rooms. I guess if I were to make a response, it would be that both longer, and more difficult mazes are a niche. When you combine both of those things, you have a huge niche to which the majority dislikes. That shouldn't be surprising. I remember looking at the gifs of kwl's hard maze; half of the things there made no sense to me, so I didn't even bother. I remember playing through the skateboarding level of the Castle of the Artic maze; I had literally never skateboarded before, and there was little to no explanation anywhere. It was through trial, error + waiting for another player to appear in the room to advise me, did I get through it. I found myself in 'Step 67' of the same maze, and HQ's explanation is 'You must now make your way across the room only stepping on the blue coloured tiles'. It was only because I managed to go through chat logs to find a better player from earlier in the maze, then adding them, then having them actually explain that I needed to align the tiles in such a way that I could virtually walk across them in a straight line. Only then did I manage to compelte it. Previously, I made the mistake of trying to follow the guide. I was trying to walk on the blue tiles, like it told me.

My point is that I don't understand how it is at all surprising that the majority aren't enjoying mazes that are difficult, when there are little to no resources avaliable to learn them. Sure, provide mazes for more elite mazers, but don't alienate the majority in the process; I learned my lesson from the Artic maze and will no longer be attempting long mazes for myself to essentially feel stranded half way through, with only a one-liner as a 'guide' from HQ. That's the reality of an 'average player' who wants to learn to maze. It's not a player issue; it's a resource issue. How about a list of 'required skills' at the start of every guide? Learning resources you can reference? In some cases, deeper explanations of game rules?

This ended up way too long. I didn't mean to sound rude, nor heavily critique HQ, but just wanted to directly address your points + share my anecdotal experience.

Much love + Merry Christmas, Shane.
Kitty replied 3 years ago
The first paragraph of your comment was really unnecessary, all good that these mazes aren't your style but you don't need to go insulting others because they're able to obtain them. Hope you had a good Christmas though x
Shortbread replied 3 years ago
Sorry that you feel it's a waste of time but a lot of badge events usually pander to those who don't want to learn the skill of mazing or spend time earning a badge. we spent a lot of time and effort on each room. designing them, building and wiring, with cute badges for them as well and if you feel you don't want to learn or acquire the skill to complete this event we understand that too. you say you spent your time more effectively but yet here you are spending time to complain about an event, maybe it's annoyance because you won't be able to own these particular badges. But I do like to create more of a challenge or difficult event so it can include the more skilled community, because simple easy events are also boring for a lot of them, and it's great to create events for everyone, so we can all enjoy our time on Habbo! as no one is forcing anyone to spend their time in this maze but it's here for anyone who wants to! we all spend our time on Habbo whether your sat in a room for 5.5 hours talking to friend, buying or selling or in a maze for a badge, it shouldn't matter! so instead of attacking others for how they spend their time, maybe we should just keep those thoughts to ourself, because at the end of the day we are all playing the same game ❤️

No badge is worth this kind of effort, the badges are harder to get than the LTD angel wings. No point making this so difficult when next month there will be better badges and the month after that. Anyways, thanks for the guide.
